Mass Effect: Andromeda - A New Trilogy?

Mass Effect Andromeda Trilogy
Mass Effect Andromeda won't be the last in the series
E3 2015 had an abundance of huge announcements over the weekend. Two of the biggest were Fallout 4 and Mass Effect: Andromeda.

A New Trilogy?

The Mass Effect: Andromeda trailer debuted at the EA games conference and featured an armoured N-7 soldier navigating a galaxy map, looking through all kinds of different planets.

Developer BioWare has confirmed on their official site that while Mass Effect 3: Citadel was being completed, plans had already begun for the next instalment in the series. So far we know Mass Effect: Andromeda will take place far away from, and long after the original trilogy. A new galaxy to explore, A new Mako to pilot, and a host of new characters to meet have all been confirmed. It would be safe to assume that Andromeda is going to be more of the same that we saw with the original Mass Effect games, but what else can we expect to see?
The original Mass Effect trilogy was a masterpiece. The decisions you made as Commander Shephard throughout the story impacted your relationships, and allies chances of survival. Whether they lived or died is a consequence of your actions. I was thoroughly immersed in the saga. I cared about my team, and I was upset if I had made the wrong call and cost one of them their lives. What BioWare managed to produce on the last gen with Mass Effect was so spectacular that there's no way Andromeda will be a stand-alone title. I expect Andromeda to be the start of a new trilogy, with the option to port your saves from each game like you could with the original Mass Effect trilogy.

I wouldn't be surprised to see an extensive multiplayer mode for Andromeda. There was, of course, multiplayer in Mass Effect 3, but I was never blown away by it. BioWare certainly has an excellent opportunity to connect Mass Effect players like never before, and I expect a host of new features and sharing modes to be implemented. Graphically, Mass Effect was outstanding on PC, PS3 & Xbox One, and I'm excited to see what Bioware can do with the power of the current generation. The trailer has already showcased some beautifully designed worlds to visit. If you haven't seen the debut trailer for Mass Effect: Andromeda, Check out the video below.
