Doom was announced at E3 2015 |
The classic first-person shooter was showcased at the Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles, and will include an abundance of demons, big guns, and fast paced action.
The latest inclusion in the Doom series featured everything that made it so much fun back in the '90s - Ultraviolence! With the Super Shotgun and the chainsaw getting plenty of screentime. It is believed that Doom will most likely be a reboot of the original and not a continuation of the story we last saw in 2005. In addition to the single-player campaign, Doom will also feature multiplayer, with games such as Domination, Clan Arena, and Freeze Tag.
id Software also introduced us to 'Doom Snapmap' a new feature that gives players, the ability to share their experiences of the Doom universe with each other, such as creating and customizing endless maps.
Doom certainly caused quite a reaction from the E3 crowd and it remains to be seen whether the early excitement becomes justified come next year on its release. The game sequences looked sharp, and the soundtrack coupled with the screams and screeching of the demons certainly brought back some fond memories.
We will keep you updated with our thoughts, and any other expected news about the release of Doom in the coming months.
